SHERIFF KUMBA JOBE was called and enrolled in The Gambia in 2016 as a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of The Gambia. He holds a law degree (LL.B) from the University of The Gambia and Barrister-at-Law (BL) qualification from the Gambia Law School.

Mr Jobe worked as a State Counsel at the Attorney General’s Chambers and Ministry of Justice.  He was attached to the Criminal Division, where he prosecuted several high profile cases before the subordinate and the superior courts.

As a State Counsel, Mr. Jobe has also represented the Government and/or the Ministry in seminars, conferences both local and international; and partakes in negotiation of bilateral and multilateral agreements and/or treaties. He also served as a focal person for Organization of Islamic Conferences (OIC) and Independence Election Commission (IEC).

In December 2016, Mr. Jobe joined private practice as an Associate Legal Practitioner at Semega Chambers. His main areas of focus are human rights and criminal practices. However, due to the specialist nature of the Chambers allows him to handles corporate and commercial matters on wide ranging legal issues.

Since 2015, he has been working as an adjunct lecturer at the Gambia Technical Training Institute and the Management Development Institute.
