MS. EBIRONKE JANNEH JAGANA is a qualified Barrister and Solicitor for England and The Gambia. She specialises in Commercial, Corporate Law, International arbitration, Banking and Finance. In 1997, Ms. Janneh Jagana obtained an LL.B (Hons.) degree from the University of Hull, UK. She proceeded to the Bar Vocational Course at the BPP Law School, London, UK and she is member of the Inner Temple (U.K). She holds LL.M degree in Commercial and Corporate Law from the University of London, King’s College, London, UK.  Ms Janneh Jagana is a qualified mediator.

 

Ms. Janneh Jagana has more than 15 years experience both in the public and private Bar.  Her professional career started in the public service where she served for several years at the Ministry of Justice & Attorney General’s Chambers as a State Counsel and then as a Legal Adviser of Central Bank of The Gambia.

 

As a Legal Adviser to the Central Bank of The Gambia, she was a member of the Legal and Institutional Committee of West African Monetary Institute where she negotiated and drafted several multinational agreements.

 

In 2006, Ms. Janneh Jagana joined Semega Chambers. Her professional areas of expertise include litigation, Commercial and Corporate Law, Banking and Finance, Corporate Governance, Alternative Dispute Resolution, International arbitration, Legislative Drafting, real estate, intellectual property and employment, among many others.

 

Ms. Janneh Jagana worked as a Senior Consultant to the Africa Development Bank in 2016 and represented the Bank successfully before the Administrative Tribunal and Staff Appeal Committee on various matters.

 

Presently, Ms. Janneh Jagana is a Managing Partner in the Chambers leading the Intellectual Property and Real estate practice. She is a former member of the executive of the Gambian Bar Association and member of the General Legal Council.  She sits on the Board of various companies.
